2003 NL Batting Crown Goes to Suzuki

Statistically, the National's top-ranked hitter in 2003 was Ichiro Suzuki of the San Diego Padres, who nabbed the batting title with a .339 average. The 29-year-old right fielder recorded 228 hits in 672 at-bats in his league-leading season. Playing in 155 games, the Padres star collected 24 doubles, 12 triples, 15 home runs, drove in 68 runs and scored 104 times.
Sosa Takes Home AL Batting Title

Cleveland Indians right fielder Sammy Sosa put the final touch on a fine season by winning the 2003 American batting crown. The 34-year-old hitter was a pitcher's nightmare, hitting .358. Sosa rapped out 164 hits in 458 at-bats with 6 doubles, 2 triples and 62 home runs. In addition, he played in 132 games, scored 127 runs and batted in 136.
