So far in his young career, Fred Luderus has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the National in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.

The 25-year-old San Francisco Giants first baseman hit at a torrid .500 clip as he collected 14 hits in 28 at-bats, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored.

This year Luderus has socked 115 hits in 458 at-bats for a .251 average with 24 home runs. He is getting on base at a .324 pace and his totals also include 83 RBIs and 71 runs scored.
