Meluskey Socks it to Padres, Cracks 5 Hits
Friday, September 22nd, 2006
It was high-5 day at Joe Robbie Stadium, at least for Mitch Meluskey of the Florida Marlins. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the San Diego Padres. Meluskey smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 14-10 win. His manager said, "Mitch was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Mitch Meluskey doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

So far this season Meluskey has 10 home runs and a .285 batting average.
